The Senior Establishment Planning Officer oversees the crew establishment plan, ensuring optimal crew levels for Operational and Crew Planning whilst managing the financial budgeting process for a safe, compliant, and cost-efficient operation. They handle day-to-day people management, task setting, and oversight of Crew Establishment Officers.
Reporting to the Establishment Planning Manager, this cross-functional role sits within the Crew Planning team under Operations Strategy & Planning, working closely with operations and commercial teams to develop and maintain the crew establishment plan.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Manage the long-term crew establishment plan, providing regular updates to Recruitment, Training, Flight Ops/Cabin Services, HR, and Finance.
2. Track FTE data vs. budget, identifying shortages or surpluses, and enabling proactive decision-making with recruitment and training teams.
3. Oversee key crew performance metrics, reporting up to AMB level to ensure confidence in establishment levels.
4. Track crew assumptions, such as maternity leave, part-time work, long-term sick leave, social leave, union activity, and secondments.
5. Manage crew attrition, highlighting risks, and adjusting the plan as needed.
6. Update recruitment and training plans, manage temporary basing requirements, and report on unpaid leave and cost savings.
7. Oversee crew leave planning and availability, support the Crew Leave team, and produce country data packs for union and works council reporting.
8. Forecast crew block hour availability monthly, showing crew productivity vs. plan, reviewing the data and communicating any variance from plan.
9. Produce and own a five-year crew establishment plan, aligning with the business strategy.
10. Contribute to schedule validation and strategy input, collaborate with stakeholders, and produce monthly crew establishment reports.
11. Drive process improvements, optimising tools and workflows while ensuring compliance with easyJet policies and procedures.
This dynamic role requires flexibility to support ad hoc activities as needed.
What you’ll need to do the role:
To excel in this role, you should be educated to degree level or have a business equivalent qualification, with at least two years of operational experience in crew scheduling, planning, or establishment. A strong understanding of EASA FTL regulations and complex crew collective agreements (CLA) is essential, with a preference for experience in an EU planning environment. You must be highly analytical, with proven experience in numerical problem-solving and financial budgeting/forecasting in a dynamic setting.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is required, along with practical database skills (e.g., MS SQL) to extract and transform data into actionable insights. Strong communication skills are key, as you’ll need to present complex information clearly and concisely to stakeholders. A team-oriented mindset, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to changing demands are crucial. Additionally, a solid understanding of crew scheduling, establishment drivers, and workforce planning will help you succeed in this fast-paced role.

Location & Hours of Work:
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
