Job title: Accounts Supervisor
Location: Southgate
Salary: Up to £30k per annum for 3 days
Post reports to: Finance Director
Contract Type: Part time permanent Hybrid working 3 days a week (1 day in the office)
Systems Used: Include, but are not limited to:
* BookMaster
* Concur
* Sage payroll
* Microsoft office, including Excel
Purpose of the role:
To assist the FD with accounting and office management duties, supervising 3 team members including providing cover when required.
Key tasks:
Accounts support: Responsible for supporting with accounting transactions and supporting tasks, including supervising three staff.
Office management: Support directors with office management tasks as required.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Supervise three accounts staff, including providing holiday cover for key tasks.
* Assist in the review of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger control accounts.
* Bank Administration & Reconciliation: Review monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies, including downloading and filing bank statements and provide holiday cover and assistance to staff completing the reconciliation.
* Credit card administration including scanning and filing credit card statements. Monitoring and setting up Credit Cards.
* Fixed assets – maintain fixed asset register, including scanning and filing invoices for year end audit.
* Financial Reporting: Production of monthly financial reports for board meetings and Employee Ownership Trust meetings.
* Administer Pensions, including checking accuracy of payments and liaison with pension providers and maintenance of records.
* VAT Returns.
* Provide cover in the accounts as required: AP, AR, Shipments, Agents Commission, Payroll.
* Assist in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting.
* Assist with the year end audit, including preparation of audit schedules.
* Administration of Car and Photocopier Leases and liaison with suppliers in the event of fault or query.
* Agree Sales/VAT to VAT Return.
* Completion of Office for National Statistics returns.
* Assist FD with ad hoc projects e.g. review of online payment systems, investigate VAT reclaims on expenses via Concur system.
* Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required including office management tasks.
Skills required:
* Staff management.
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and double entry.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
* Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive approach.
* Maintains confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
* Ability to learn new systems. Involvement in systems development and testing an advantage.
