BOATH HOUSE - FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER
Position Summary: The Front of House Manager at Boath House oversees both guest-facing operations and broader hotel management functions, creating exceptional experiences that reflect our unique blend of Highland hospitality, heritage, and creative vision. This role combines hands-on guest service with operational oversight, ensuring our historic property delivers both warm, personalized attention and consistent operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Front Office Operations:
* Serve as the primary ambassador for Boath House, embodying our blend of timeless Highland hospitality and creative spirit
* Manage daily front desk operations, ensuring warm, personalized welcomes and departures
* Handle guest check-in, check-out, and payment processes with meticulous attention to detail
* Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and concerns, ensuring exceptional service recovery when needed
* Create bespoke guest experiences highlighting our Garden Kitchen, upcoming Moine restaurant, and Dunbar's offerings
* Coordinate special arrangements for celebrations, private events, and VIP guests
Operational Management:
* Oversee reservation systems, room allocations, and occupancy optimization for our 16 unique rooms and cottages
* Implement revenue management strategies to maximize occupancy and rate across seasons
* Monitor competitive landscape and adjust pricing strategies accordingly
* Ensure accurate daily reconciliation of all financial transactions
* Prepare regular reports on occupancy, revenue, and guest satisfaction
* Manage departmental budgets and control costs while maintaining luxury standards
Team Leadership:
* Recruit, train, and develop front of house staff in our distinctive approach to Scottish hospitality
* Create staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage during peak periods and seasonal fluctuations
* Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
* Foster a collaborative culture between departments including housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance
Business Development:
* Identify opportunities to enhance revenue through upselling and cross-selling
* Collaborate with marketing on promotional activities and content creation
* Build relationships with local businesses and tourism partners
* Gather and analyze guest feedback to continuously improve service offerings
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in luxury hospitality, preferably in boutique or historic properties
* Proven leadership experience in front office or hotel operations
* Strong understanding of revenue management principles
* Excellent communication skills and genuine passion for exceptional guest service
* Flexible approach to working hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Knowledge of Scottish hospitality and tourism landscape beneficial
