Our leading Douglas-based Client is expanding their Finance Team in order to manage growth and demand within the business. To support them, they now require an experienced Internal Audit Accountant. As part of the Isle of Man Internal Audit Team, the Internal Audit Accountant will be responsible for responding to requests for information from internal and external auditors of client companies, where the business maintains the company accounting records (as part of yacht, aviation or project management contracts). You will also provide input to the Internal Audit Senior Manager in their position as audit coordinator for the external audit of the corporate entities. In addition to the above, you may be asked to support the Senior Manager in ensuring that internal controls are effective, risks are managed, and operations are conducted in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.Day to day you would be concerned with supporting the following: Liaison with Internal and External Auditors: Liaising with internal and external auditors to understand audit requirements and to identify how any information requested can be obtained Assisting in providing regular briefings to auditors and responding to requests for general information. Contributing in providing weekly progress reports for audit work, based on audit plan and maintaining an issues log so that improvements can be made with the process going forward Audit Planning: Assisting in developing a detailed audit plan, based on audit requirements, including an estimate of time taken to complete individual work packages Assisting in establishing milestones and stages with deadlines and use these for regular progress reports and to reassess the time required to complete the remaining work Internal systems and process reviews: Supporting the implementation of new IT systems. Working as a team: Liaising with the Internal Audit Senior Manager to ensure that the audit plan is progressing as expected Training and supervising junior staff The ideal candidate for the role of Internal Audit Accountant will have: At least Part qualified (ACA / ACCA) with demonstrable experience in a similar role Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent research and analytical skills High levels of ethical standards A keen eye for detail to successfully scrutinise data Ability to interact with coworkers and work in a team
