We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team. You will manage the manufacturing engineering processes required for assembly, integration and testing of company products to meet company and customer requirements in line with relevant standards, including compliance and adherence to QHSE standards. Defence background is an advantage but not essential. What will you be doing: As Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will: Develop the operational concepts and model for the Manufacturing Engineering organisation to enable assembly, integration and testing in line with all relevant standards. Develop and manage the documentation of all manufacturing engineering policies, processes and procedures to meet all relevant standards. Collaborate widely with Engineering and development teams to drive the timely availability of data required to support development of manufacturing processes. Develop and manage the Manufacturing Engineering processes required to adequately prescribe the assembly, integration and test processes and methods so customer and quality requirements are met. Identify process risks and implement necessary controls to assure manufacturing process safety and continuous improvement. Manage the specification, design, manufacture, installation & testing of production equipment, tooling, fixtures & rigs, measurement equipment and testing stations to meet production requirements in line with safety and quality standards. Drive the identification and resolution of process and product issues within Production Operations, relating to Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery to ensure customer and business requirements are met and continuous improvement is promoted. Contribute to all phases of production planning, technology transfer and implementation in collaboration with internal supporting programmes, business units and strategic suppliers to meet business and customer requirements. Work closely with configuration management teams to ensure rigorous procedures are followed to manage change arising from all sources that affect either product or processes, to assure manufacturing process control and product configuration management. Manage, coach and motivate the manufacturing engineering team to develop their performance, maximise their effectiveness and ensure company values, ethical standards, organisational vision, policies, processes, procedures and statutory and contractual requirements are always adhered to. Establish and monitor systems for measurement of departmental performance, including KPIs, reporting and communicating, as required, to ensure best practice, continuous improvement and adherence to company and customer requirement. Manage allocated budget to ensure cost effective service is delivered. Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure cost effective manufacturing processes are viable and implemented on new projects and products.
