About The Role
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a solid background in electrical maintenance and a commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our operations while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
About Your Role
1. Support the Engineering Manager in daily operations, stepping in during their absence.
2. Manage and control monthly maintenance budgets effectively.
3. Oversee and assign electrical and mechanical workloads to ensure efficient department operations.
4. Plan and lead activities for routine and major maintenance shutdowns.
5. Prioritize and allocate maintenance resources to meet operational demands.
6. Ensure that fitters and electricians meet expected performance standards.
7. Monitor and improve completion rates of PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and work orders.
8. Plan and execute mini-improvement and safety projects during plant stoppages.
9. Ensure strict compliance with safety standards among direct reports.
10. Work towards a zero-harm work environment.
11. Handle tactical maintenance management, allowing the Engineering Manager to focus on long-term strategy.
12. Provide technical direction and leadership for the engineering team.
13. Mentor and guide apprentices and junior engineers.
14. Drive improvements in safety standards and department behaviours, particularly under pressure.
We're Looking For
1. Apprentice-trained in a relevant trade.
2. Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
3. Proven experience in a maintenance leadership role.
4. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance processes.
5. Experience in fault diagnosis and repair of industrial machinery and systems.
6. Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) systems.
7. Experience with Siemens / Allen Bradley systems.
8. Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Access.
9. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
