Your new role
As our new Senior Consultant, you will lead projects with confidence and embrace continuous learning to excel in your technical field. This role is about innovation, effective project management, and fostering strong client relationships with clients who strive for excellence in sustainability.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
1. Lead or support projects delivering carbon accounting assessments, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, setting targets, develop and implement carbon reduction strategies and net-zero roadmaps tailored to client needs.
2. Proactively identifying potential client leads, and collaboratively contribute to the expansion of our carbon and net zero advisory services.
3. Stay informed about evolving regulations, policies, and reporting frameworks related to carbon accounting and net zero strategies.
4. Support or conduct workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities for client teams.
5. Participating in industry forums, conferences, and working groups to network, exchange knowledge, and contribute to thought leadership across various media and high-profile proactive engagement on LinkedIn and relevant media etc.
6. Where needed, engage in wider sustainability projects that could include Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Carbon management in infrastructure projects, sustainability services, and whole life carbon assessments (LCAs)
7. Serve as a positive team member, embodying Ramboll's expected values.
8. Support training and knowledge sharing with junior staff.

9. Carbon accounting, SBTi target setting and validation for a glass manufacturer in Tanzania and a global pharmaceutical company.
10. Carbon accounting, SBTi target setting, decarbonisation strategy/options for a Private Equity company.
11. Carbon accounting, supplier engagement, CDP and TCFD disclosure for a manufacturing company in the automotive industry.
12. Carbon/sustainability management plan and options assessments for infrastructure upgrade works for the British Antarctic Survey.
13. Carbon baselining and carbon management plans for infrastructure projects.
14. Strategic and technical support to National Highways to assist in implementing their Environmental Sustainability strategy and Net Zero highways plan.
15. EIA scoping reports and climate chapters to support planning applications.
Your new team
You will be part of our Sustainability and Carbon team within the UK Environment and Health business unit. We provide services in corporate net zero strategy, science-based targets advisory, carbon data management, energy efficiency, sustainability and climate risk, biodiversity net gain, natural capital, EHS management, impact assessment, health sciences, air quality, BREEAM Infrastructure and due diligence to diverse clients in various sectors. Not only will you work within our dynamic and growing sustainability and carbon team, but you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the UK and internationally. This includes working with experts in transport, marine, and buildings within the wider Ramboll business.

You will typically have three to five years’ experience and this could include the following areas:
16. Experience in GHG accounting and reporting such as the GHG Protocol and/or ISO 14064-1.
17. Knowledge of additional GHG accounting and reporting such as PAS 2050, PAS 2060, and PAS 2080.
18. Familiarity with emissions factor databases and potentially third-party GHG software tools.
19. Knowledge or experience of reporting frameworks such as CDP, TCFD and awareness of developments in the field, such as those around corporate sustainability reporting (EU CSRD, SASB, GRI)
20. Familiarity with industry standards like Science-Based Targets (SBTi) and the Transition Pathway Initiative.
21. Proficiency in numerical analysis e.g., Excel or carbon accounting software or digital platforms for carbon accounting.
22. Proficiency in report and presentation creation using software such as Word or PowerPoint.
23. Strong engagement and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal colleagues and external clients.
24. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn new skills as you may be required to work across multiple workstreams.
Not essential but you may also be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
25. Developing feasibility studies, scenario analyses/option appraisals to identify and prioritize GHG emission reduction measures.
26. Sustainability and environmental strategies, LCAs, EIAs and Carbon management in infrastructure projects.
27. General sustainability knowledge (waste, circular economy, sustainable finance, biodiversity, air pollution, social impact etc.)
28. Energy auditing and/or energy regulation compliance.
29. Use of Power BI.
30. Experience of supporting project management tasks to support delivery of projects on time and to budget.
31. Supporting development of project case studies, templates and fee proposals.
