A Senior Buyer position has arisen within the Procurement Department for South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post holder will take responsibility for the procurement of goods and services for their designated portfolio as well as supporting the wider team of 16 staff in procurement activity. They will utilise their extensive knowledge of applicable EU and UK contracting law to deliver value for money contracts for a wide range of goods and services.
Main duties of the job
1. Contracting for a variety of goods and services to ensure local and regulatory compliance as well as delivery savings and value of money.
2. Protecting the Trust commercially in all procurement and contracting activity. Includes escalating risk to procurement and senior manager and developing mitigation strategies.
3. Maintaining accurate and complete records for all contracting and procurement discussions/decisions to satisfy statutory and audit requirements.
4. Creation of portfolio work plans and procurement strategies in line with core business needs.

Qualifications
1. Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply – Level 4.
2. Attendance at the leadership and development and improvement programme (4.5 days).
3. Degree or equivalent in highly desirable.
Experience
1. Experience of working within NHS purchasing and procurement.
