Job Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role based in Oldbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical issues. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, machinery, power presses and hydraulics, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform regular maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues as they arise. Effective recording and monitoring of all electrical/production-based issues. Investigating faults with plant and equipment and completing any necessary repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs performed. Completing scheduled maintenance. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair various types of machinery. Previous experience in a Mechanical Engineer role, with time served in a Manufacturing setting. Excellent fitting skills with the ability to weld and fabricate. Hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding experience. Pro-active approach to problem solving. Experience of planned maintenance and continuous improvement/lean manufacturing. Minimum City and Guilds 1 and 2 in Mechanical Engineering. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 730am to 4pm and Friday 730am to 1230pm. 37 hour working week. Salary and Benefits £36,500 salary after completed probation period. Company pension scheme.
