A co-educational independent day and boarding school in Wellington, Somerset for pupils aged 3 to 18, catering for 800 students and teachers with 220 boarders. We offer a core feeding of breakfast club, mid-morning snack, lunch, after school clubs, dinner, house supplies, and boarding treats. This is a 52-week contract with a considerable amount of hospitality at this location. This is a 7-day operation, so the working pattern would be 5 out of 7. The role will be split between front of house and kitchen. An additional benefit of this location is free on-site parking.
Responsibilities:
* Work well in a team, providing food and great service.
* Produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch, and following the company's brand standards.
* Ensure company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
* Ensure all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
* Assist the Chefs with some food preparation.
* Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Great team player.
* A genuine interest in food & excellent customer service.
* Innovation and passion for great food.
* An organized Kitchen Assistant with attention to detail.
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English.
* Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills.
* Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
