About the Role A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Assistant Receptionist to join a welcoming school environment, providing vital front-of-house support. Working alongside the existing receptionist, this role ensures the smooth running of the reception area and delivers high-quality administrative assistance. Must be available to work from 20th February -23rd July (End of term) Hours: 37 hours per week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 08:00 – 16:00 Thursday: 08:00 – 15:30 (including a 30-minute lunch break) Key Responsibilities Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students, ensuring a warm and professional welcome. Controlling entry to the premises, ensuring security procedures are followed. Managing calls, taking and relaying messages, and providing information to callers. Coordinating visitor sign-ins and issuing badges, notifying relevant staff of arrivals. Handling incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries. Arranging school tours and booking the reception meeting room. Sending staff-wide communications, including messages from parents. Liaising with external agencies when required. Assisting with administrative tasks and providing general office support. Essential: Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role. Strong communication and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. A professional and welcoming manner. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable: Experience working in a school office. Familiarity with a range of ICT packages. First Aid trained (or willingness to undertake training)
