What you’ll be doing
We rely on volunteers like you to help us improve the lives of people with sight loss. In this role your support will include:
1. Supporting in organising and attending events and collections in your local area, such as Great Guide Dogs Tea Party. Informing your key contact and relevant members of these events.
2. Supporting in building relationships with local networks, organisations, schools, and social groups to host events or to name their own puppy.
3. Delegating tasks and responsibilities to other volunteers within your fundraising group in the absence of the Fundraising Group Coordinator.
4. Supporting in making sure fundraising policies and procedures are followed; including all roles are maintaining their required records.
You’ll have
Ideally you will:
1. Be able to generate enthusiasm and motivate people.
2. Have good communication and networking skills.
3. Have a passion for organising events.

You’ll get
Volunteering is a two-way street, so in return for your time you will get a dedicated volunteer manager/key contact who will help you settle in and support you during your time with us. You’ll also get:

3. An opportunity to interact with others, including people within Guide Dogs and members of the public.

Training and support
This role has 1 hour of training and then you’ll be ready to go!
If you have questions about the training requirements, we can answer these at your interview along with any other support or accessibility needs you may have.
Volunteering for Guide Dogs should never leave you out of pocket.
We’ll make sure we pay any expenses related to your volunteering with us in line with our policy.
