JOB SUMMARY
Silvaco is looking for Interns to join the TCAD Group. As part of this position, you will work to update and expand Silvaco’s TCAD example set and update product documentation. You will gain skills and become more proficient in Semiconductor Device Modeling as well as technical writing and technical presentation. Furthermore, you will have an opportunity to pursue some independent research work utilizing Silvaco tools that could align with graduate research studies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES; include but not limited to:
1. Collaborate with Silvaco engineers to use TCAD to update, enhance, and create new semiconductor technology examples in TCAD.
2. Through this process the employee will become more proficient in the use of commercial TCAD tools, as well as gain knowledge in semiconductor device technology.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Junior/Senior-level undergraduate or Graduate student (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
2. Knowledge and coursework in semiconductor device physics and processing.
3. Experience with Silvaco TCAD Tools preferred (process and/or device simulation).
4. Experience with 3rd party TCAD tools also acceptable (Synopsys Sentaurus, Lam/Coventor Semulator, etc).
5. Experience with Linux operating systems, scripting a plus.
6. Experience with C/C++/Matlab programming as part of modeling semiconductor device physics a plus.
7. Basic/Good presentation skills, communication skills and technical writing skills desired.
8. Assistant will be asked to give internal reports and presentations, and will be coached on presentation and writing skills.
9. Desire to expand skillset, work independently and take on projects efficiently.
