Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount within their engineering team, they are looking for a maintenance engineer, with ideally an electrical bias.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. To carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvement and modification or upgrade of plant, fully automated production & packaging machinery and site services.
2. Drive continuous improvements & process improvement work
3. Steam & boiler system maintenance
4. Follow PPM schedules efficiently & effectively
5. Carry out project work -installation & modification
6. Electrical fault finding & modifications of PLC’s, HMi’s, SCADA Systems and Control Panels
7. Mechanical repair and fault finding
8. Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives, valves
9. Upkeep and alteration of electrical & mechanical drawings
10. Engineering stores management & parts ordering
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
11. Multi-Skilled Engineer – but must ideally be electrically biased (70/30 or 60/40)
12. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering – Time-served Apprenticeship
13. Ideally be qualified to City & Guilds / ONC / HNC in Electrical Engineering
14. Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
15. Knowledge of production environment, continuous improvements & development
16. Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
17. Must have worked in fast-paced environment – FMCG manufacturing/production
18. Have experience of working on boilers & steam systems
19. Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi’s & SCADA Systems
20. Beneficial to have electrical safety knowledge of isolations and electrical H&S standards
21. Must have worked on high-speed automated production machinery
22. Bonus if have 17th / 18th Edition
23. Knowledge of health & safety standards
