Fundraising and raising awareness of the impact of our work in local communities plays a critical role in achieving this, enabling Marie Curie to deliver its organisational strategy of ensuring that everyone affected by dying, death and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what's most important to them, and to deliver its strategic goals The Deputy Head of regional Fundraising is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to maximise fundraising for Marie Curie, collaborating closely with teams across the organisation. The postholder will focus on income growth, identifying opportunities, and fostering strong relationships with supporters, corporate partners, and volunteers. Key duties include optimising fundraising activities, managing resources, and leading initiatives to grow the supporter base. They will work across teams to deliver events, engage high-net-worth donors, and promote gifts in wills. Leadership, stewardship, and operational efficiency are critical to this role, as well as maintaining high standards of supporter care and business continuity. - Developing and implementing an integrated fundraising plan to optimize Marie Curie voluntary income across all fundraising disciplines in the region in line with our UK strategy. - Working with the Heads of Regional Fundraising optimise the recruitment, development, and retention of Marie Curie supporters by implementing and supporting an audience focussed approach and culture across the region. - Supporting the team, working in close partnership with Mass participation, Special Events, and Legacy and In Memory Giving to develop and deliver a broad programme of sector leading events and virtual events to increase participation, engage supporters, and grow income. - Deepening the understanding and insight of the needs and opportunities of key fundraising audiences in the region including corporate; individuals; volunteers and groups and trusts and foundations. - Being an acknowledged expert and represent fundraising in communities across Marie Curie. Key Criteria: - A proven track-record in working with geographically dispersed teams and will have achieved growth in performance and income. - Experience of embedding strategic thinking and planning, and an ability to turn a strategy into an operational plan, engaging others to create shared ownership of the plans. - An experienced manager with the ability to work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to build long term and sustainable income growth. - Excellent communication with the ability to represent fundraising internally and externally. - Experience of building new sustainable relationships and improving the retention of existing supporters or clients. - Proactive attitude with a self-starter drive, thriving on identifying new opportunities and knowing how to build relationships and experiences to deliver long term value and support.
