Your primary responsibility/duty is to lead all aspects of the daily operations of the area/areas of main management responsibility, by providing an excellent customer focused service, ensuring that all Portering department tasks/duties are completed in a professional and timely fashion. To be responsible for the management, supervision and administration of the post holders designated area/areas of responsibility to include but not exclusive: appraisals, attendance, booking of bank staff, sickness / absence records through the use of the Trust databases, and arranging bespoke and or mandatory training. The Portering Team Leader will be required to delegate tasks as necessary though out the department, whilst utilising good leadership and problem solving skills, ensuring that they actively pursue and reinforce the Trusts policies in relation to Equal Opportunities and diversity legislation. To manage and maintain adequate staffing levels by co-ordinating and producing all staff duties/rosters, ensuring that any staff absence is covered. Liaise with all users of the portering service to include, patients, trust department and services and external companies and agencies in a professional manner and where required problem solve in line with Department SOPs and trust policy.
