As a Cloud & Service Transition Architect, you will have a pivotal role in consolidating our consulting, engineering and product offerings through state-of-the-art hosting solutions under effective and tailored services to our clients. Sitting in the consulting division, you will be expected to design and own hosting, application, data and infrastructure solutions across cloud (sole and multi-vendor), on-prem and hybrid landscapes. In addition to the design and ownership of solutions, the successful candidate will be expected to lead the design and introduction of the solutions as services tailored to the needs and challenges of our customers and thus become responsible for the lifecycle of the solutions, from an inception and ideation phase to its transition and delivery of responsive and effective services. Job Responsibilities Provide direction, advice and support to organizational change, process and controls change management, and technology development teams during the design and build of solutions and services. Lead the development of service architectures for ne and existing projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client needs. Analyse and gather requirements, translating them into scalable hosting and service solutions. Define and document service delivery frameworks, ensuring that operational models are robust and adaptable to change. Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the proposed service architectures. Provide technical leadership in solution reviews and ensure designs meet client and regulatory standards. Contribute to the design and development of cross-cutting managed services within Envitia and our client pool. Carry out horizon scanning to identify emerging technology and industry trends and assess their potential impact and opportunity to become Envitia offerings to the market. Become an active contributor to Envitia’s architecture policies and standards and ensure all solutions meet our architecture policies and standards. Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions. Ensure solution, hosting and service architectures are subject to robust cost and effort estimation, covering design, development, transition, operation, maintenance and exit costs. Skills Required Cloud & Hosting Architecture Solid cloud knowledge in both Azure and AWS environments – ideally with solution architecture certification for one of the providers. Strong experience of defining and designing on-prem, hybrid, single cloud and multi-cloud architectures. Strong experience in selecting and costing applications on cloud environments. Strong demonstrable experience in implementing IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services and solutions. Solid experience in distributed architecture, integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS applications. Exposure to a range of modern architectures including data streaming, real-time processing, distributed computing, cloud computing, visualisation, analytics, machine learning and data lakehouses. Service Architecture Strong experience of defining service models and design service architectures in modular frameworks, from service ideation and definition to full implementation. Experience in defining, delivering and transitioning processes and controls to manage and run services. Proven experience as a Service Architect, with a strong background in service design, architecture and transition to live. Experience with designing service level agreements (SLAs) and operational level agreements (OLAs) Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks with ITIL certification an advantage. Experience in defining Assurance managed services approach to audit readiness and compliance with process and controls standards such as SOC1 and SOC2, and support projects in meeting these standards. Core Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills. Proven experience in leading major transformation projects. Experience at Presenting to Technical Design Authority forums to secure approval from relevant stakeholders, including colleagues from business, operations, and IT Experience in leading solution development in pre-sales activities, including developing proposals and delivering client presentations. Large experience with Defence or Central Government clients – A good understanding of GDS standards will be deemed as a key differentiator. Security Clearance Requirements The successful candidate must be eligible to go through a SC level security clearance. Location The role will be required onsite in our Horsham offices 1 day a week and travel to client sites when required.
