A bit about the role The Young Person's Worker will support children and young people up to age 25 in our Community Resource building in Bayhead. Providing individualised child-focused packages of support which can include activities based of the young person's likes and introducing opportunities to try new activities and have new experiences, attending events in the community. Enhancing life, social and communication skills. You will plan and support young people in taking part in activities based at the service in order to develop their skills as well as attend to their personal care. How you'll help to create brighter futures Relationship building and providing general support for our children and young people, including: personal care; Care planning; writing risk assessments and cooking meals with and for the household. Enabling children to attend education and supporting them to have positive contact with their families. Encouraging and supporting young people to participate in community activities. Attending meetings on behalf of our children and young people. Ensuring paperwork is kept up to date, including writing reports, child's plans and risk assessments. Planning activities for children and young people and including them in any decision making. Let's talk about you SVQ 3 and/or HNC in Social Care or the equivalent. Experience of working in a residential care service. An understanding of the issues and barriers vulnerable, traumatised children and young people may face. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Good IT skills. Flexibility to be able to work shifts as part of a rota. A willingness to attend training for continuous development.
