Role Overview:
As the Commissioning and Contracts Manager, you will lead the planning, management, and delivery of a range of passenger transport services in the Place department. You will ensure contracts are efficient, meet legal requirements, and provide high-quality, safe transport for all customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Establish commissioning and contract systems for passenger transport services across the Passenger Transport Group.
2. Manage budgets and contribute to setting future budgets and policies.
3. Ensure the commissioning plan is supported by robust data analysis.
4. Conduct due diligence checks on service providers and ensure efficient use of Procurement/DPS.
5. Develop service specifications and performance management in collaboration with providers.
6. Monitor compliance and quality systems to manage contract performance.
7. Produce reports for senior management and contribute to the Departmental Service Plan.
8. Stimulate market engagement and ensure a range of service provision.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Significant management experience in commissioning, contract performance, or transport, and experience in managing large teams.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage multi-million-pound budgets, develop strategic plans, and provide innovative solutions to transport issues.
Personal Attributes: Strong leadership, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Degree or postgraduate qualification in passenger transport or related discipline, or membership of a relevant professional body.
