As MEICA Project Engineer, you will be joining a leading water and wastewater specialist contractor with offices throughout the UK and Ireland. Based in the Northern Ireland office, you will be part of a team working on a variety of water projects, including new installations, refurbishments, and upgrades. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will undertake aspects of design, bid preparation, plant specification, site asset surveys, energy efficiency, and project management roles at construction and commissioning stages. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist with design and coordination for the MEICA aspects of current projects.
Main Duties:
* Provide technical management of on-site activities, oversee planning and programming, liaise with the design team, and ensure satisfactory design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Ensure compliance throughout all projects with relevant health and safety regulations, environmental policies, QMS, customer requirements, and general duty of care.
* Monitor progress with respect to cost and quality, prepare progress reports for presentation to the Contracts Manager, and attend site progress meetings and value engineering workshops.
* Contribute to the preparation of tender documents and assist with the pricing and ordering of equipment from suppliers/potential suppliers.
Skills and Experience:
* An industry applicable ONC/HNC/BEng or equivalent third level qualification.
* Demonstrate a desire to work within the wastewater or water industry.
* Demonstrate commercial and contractual awareness.
* Good IT skills, including MS Project, Word, and Excel.
* CAD experience would be advantageous.
You will also have excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal. The nature of the role requires travel throughout Northern Ireland, with occasional trips to ROI.
