About the role
17. This role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend working on a rotational basis
18. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
19. The base location for this role is the South, based in but not limited to, Oxford and surrounding areas.
20. The role will involve regular travel, and overnight stays to other parts of the country will also be required. Therefore, flexibility and a full clean driving licence is essential.
What you'll do
21. Ensure Food Safety Training is up to date and work with the Learning & Development Team to ensure this is trained out to team members.
22. Work with relevant departments on retail/ marketing-based initiatives/activities to ensure they are food safe.
23. Ensure that significant customer complaints are managed centrally, investigated appropriately, with root cause identified, all within deadlines.
24. Manage food safety incidents, including the review of CCTV, to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
25. Implement and provide feedback on food safety changes and initiatives.
26. Contribute to Retail HACCP teams; reviewing, updating and maintaining HACCP systems and procedures.
27. Collect, trend and communicate KPI data to schedule
28. Lead and contribute to the management and development of food safety and quality management systems.
29. Liaise with the Regional Technical Managers and Retail teams to ensure customer complaints are handled and completed correctly
30. Take responsibility for raising the standards of hygiene and microbiological performance by providing in-shop support
31. Liaise with Local Authority representatives to provide problem resolution
32. Investigate and monitor food safety non-compliance and incidents
About you
We are looking for individuals who are driven, and can demonstrate:
33. A Degree or HNC level education in a Food Science based subject
34. HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications
35. Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience working in a technical based food safety role in a production or retail background
36. Proven experience in investigations and internal audits with strong attention to detail
37. Proven experience of leadership, decision making and report writing
38. A result focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others
