Job Title: Testing Team Manager – Electrical/Electronics

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Testing Team Manager to join our Energy testing team at Loughborough, where you will oversee the management and development of BSI’s Electrical & Electronics testing Laboratory and associated resources.
Responsibilities:
* Develop testing methods and procedures to meet requirements from British, European and International standards.
* Coach, lead and motivate the electrical testing team in their day-to-day operational activities, associated resourcing and administration for the business to ensure accurate and timely forecasts are made and budget revenues and costs are achieved.
* Develop, monitor and report on KPIs for the business.
* Drive improvements in performance management to ensure BSI employees have the appropriate skill, knowledge and attitudes to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
* Ensure teams full compliance across H&S and BSI policies.
* Manage the provision of equipment and services for the operations and act as an interface into BSI Facilities and Health and Safety on matters which directly affect the laboratory facility.
* Lead & collaborate with sister locations & teams to deliver best in class service and support to drive growth and new product innovation within sector.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
* Degree or equivalent in an engineering related discipline.
* Strong people management skills to deal with the range of day-to-day employee issues, as well as coach and facilitate the on-going development of employees.
* Proven ability to effectively manage the performance of multi-disciplined / technical teams, managing employees and processes to meet expectations.
* Experience or appetite for promoting continual improvement and a lean culture.
* Experience with product certification and testing concepts, principles, and processes including internal auditing, accreditation, and competence.
* Experience within a similar UKAS accredited, 17025 testing environment would be a major advantage.
