Main Areas of Responsibility
Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting and advising teaching staff on classroom preparation for practical exercises.
* Ensuring equipment and materials are prepared to the teacher's specifications.
* Advising on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment.
* Assisting in the safety, repair, and maintenance of resources and equipment.
* Ensuring the welfare of plants and animals in the science area.
* Preparing for practical lessons based on the science syllabus.
* Assisting with stock keeping.
* Undertaking safety checks and risk assessments.
* Storing equipment and materials safely.
* Safe disposal of used chemicals and hazardous waste.
* Keeping up to date with health and safety regulations.
* Maintaining cleanliness and safety in preparation for lessons.
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
* A Level qualifications or equivalent (A Level in physics, chemistry, or biology).
* COSHH training as appropriate.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Good understanding of chemicals and their properties.
* Experience as a technician in a school or educational establishment.
* Experience managing your own workload.
