Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Mould Maker with a background in boat building or marine engineering to join our innovative production team. This role involves the creation of custom moulds used for precast concrete production. As a Mould Maker, you will leverage your experience in marine engineering, which requires precision, problem-solving, and working with complex forms, to construct durable and accurate moulds. Key Responsibilities:
Mould Construction:
* Construct custom moulds for precast concrete production using technical drawings and engineering specifications.
* Utilize expertise in working with materials such as timber, steel, fibreglass and other composites commonly used in the marine industry.
* Ensure moulds are crafted with precision, ensuring exact dimensions, shapes, and high-quality finishes.
Technical Proficiency:
* Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and engineering plans to ensure accurate mould construction.
* Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize mould designs and resolve any technical challenges.
* Modify or repair existing moulds to maintain quality and performance in the production process.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a boat builder, marine engineer, or in a similar role working with timber, composites, and metal fabrication.
* Experience in concrete mould making or the precast industry is a strong plus but not required.
Skills:
* Expertise in working with fiberglass, composites, steel, and other materials commonly used in boat building or marine engineering.
* Strong ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
* Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail to ensure precision and durability in mould construction.
* Experience with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment used for fabrication and mould making.
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Strong communication skills to work with production and engineering departments.
* Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve technical challenges.
