A Major Tier 1 Manufacturer in the Automotive sector is looking for a Facilities Engineer to join the team at their impressive site in the Telford area.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Operating in an Automotive Tier 1 environment and reporting into the Facilities Cell Leader, you will have strong electrical & mechanical ability, experience with facilities such as plumbing, electrics and more.
This is a fantastic opportunity with a global company that supplies to some of the biggest clients in the industry. The facilities department is currently operating on a straight days shift pattern; however, in the future, it will change to a two-shift pattern (07:00 - 15:00 & 15:00 - 23:00 weekly rotating).
Role: Facilities Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: £46,000
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform daily plant inspections and record readings as required by company and legal standards.
2. Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on all factory equipment and services.
3. Maintain critical site services, including electrical systems, air supply, process cooling water, soft water, and potable/non-potable water.
4. Diagnose and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery.
5. Carry out electrical installations in compliance with current regulations.
6. Monitor and control legionella risks within the factory and cooling towers per statutory guidelines.
7. Test fire protection systems as per company insurance requirements.
8. Oversee and maintain AHU (Air Handling Units) and AC (Air Conditioning) systems.
9. Install new equipment, machinery, and supporting infrastructure.
10. Perform general external maintenance work.
11. Strip down, inspect, and rebuild pumps as needed.
12. Ensure the proper function of all factory sanitation systems.
13. Respond to spills and other urgent facility-related issues.
14. Monitor and maintain abatement plants as per statutory obligations.
15. Oversee wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with Severn Trent discharge limits.
16. Uphold 5S workplace organization across the entire facility.
17. Step in for the Facilities Cell Leader when required.
18. Supervise contractors, ensuring compliance with site regulations and safety standards.
19. Adhere to safe working practices, ensuring all PPE requirements are met.
Key Requirements:
1. Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
2. Strong electrical knowledge and competency.
3. Experience in pipe fitting, installations, and repairs.
4. Proficiency in plumbing installations and repairs.
5. Skilled in disassembling and rebuilding pumps of various sizes and types.
6. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
7. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
8. Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
9. 18th Edition Electrical Certification is preferred.
