ABOUT THIS ROLE Job Title: Trainee Money, Energy and Benefits Advisor Reporting to: Team lead Salary: SP22 £23,151.49 - SP24 £24,424.84 per annum pro rata Hours: 30- 37 hours per week Duration: Fixed term until October 2026 Base: East Lancashire After completing the initial NEA and internal training, SP22 will progress to SP23 within 6 to 9 months. MAIN DUTIES Engage in on-the-job training, shadowing, and self-study on relevant topics related to the job and complete the development plan. Triage customer calls and direct them to the most suitable option: face-to-face advice sessions, home visits, or low-level advice and support (e.g., budgeting packs, energy tip sheets). Provide clients with telephone and in-person low-level benefits and energy advice, assisting with benefits issues, energy concerns, and budgeting within six months. Signpost clients to other services within Lancashire Women, such as employment support or the mental health and wellbeing team. Attend networking and community events to promote energy and money advice services, educating individuals on energy-saving measures, local initiatives, the benefits of Smart Meter installation, and budgeting advice. Document and manage personal caseloads and diaries efficiently using SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and our CRM system to ensure all client records are updated promptly and meet relevant targets and objectives for the role and the wider team.
