Role Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated people to join the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) in a job share ward clerk role. Person 1 to join the team ASAP, Person 2 from June 5.
Our admin team is made up of a Team Leader, friendly dedicated ward clerk admin staff, and patient flow coordinators.
About the Role
AMU deals with approximately referrals per year and is an exciting and stimulating place to work. You will deal with referrals from GPs, paramedics, and ED, admitting patients onto the ward and managing their subsequent pathway through the hospital.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a pleasant telephone manner. It is essential that you can interact with patients calmly, sensitively, and efficiently both on the telephone and in person.
You must be able to use your initiative, prioritising your workload to meet the changing needs of the department, as AMU is a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
If you feel you are the right person to meet the demands of this challenging and rewarding role, we would be delighted to hear from you and encourage you to arrange a visit to see how the ward clerk role is essential to the unit.
Working Pattern: hours per week. Based on a two-week rolling rota.
Interview Date: to be confirmed
For further information please contact: Claire Burnham, Admin team leader. Due to the anticipated high number of applications for this post, we reserve the right to close the vacancy before the closing date.
