About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operational Lead to manage and develop our expanding ADHD Meds Service. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in a rapidly growing service that supports both NHS and self-funded clients. You will oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring the service runs efficiently while maintaining high standards of care and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in service management, and a passion for improving patient outcomes. You will work closely with clinical leads and senior leadership to enhance service delivery, manage operational challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Service Management
1. Oversee the daily operations of the ADHD Meds Service, ensuring smooth service delivery.
2. Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, creating a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
3. Manage resources effectively, ensuring efficient patient pathways and reducing waiting times.
4. Work closely with clinical teams to uphold best practices and service quality standards.
5. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks aligned with regulatory requirements.
Strategic Development & Continuous Improvement
1. Contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the ADHD Meds Service.
2. Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement data-driven solutions.
3. Monitor performance metrics, ensuring service objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including NHS commissioners, to enhance service delivery.
Team Leadership & Staff Development
1. Provide leadership, line management, and professional development opportunities for team members.
2. Support recruitment, training, and onboarding of new staff.
3. Ensure a positive team culture that aligns with Oakdale’s values and commitment to patient care.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
1. Ensure the service meets Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.
2. Lead quality assurance initiatives, clinical audits, and risk management strategies.
3. Maintain high standards of patient safety and clinical governance within the service.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
1. At least 2 years of experience in the health or social care sector.
2. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in line management, preferably within multidisciplinary teams.
3. Proven ability to manage services, improve operational efficiency, and achieve measurable outcomes.
4. Strong knowledge of ADHD treatment pathways and neurodevelopmental services.
5. Experience in leading teams, managing resources, and overseeing service development.
Skills & Competencies
1. Excellent organisational skills, with a proactive and methodical approach.
2. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and support teams.
3. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational management.
4. Knowledge of CQC compliance and regulatory requirements.
5. High level of IT proficiency, with experience in case management systems and data analysis.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical, client-centred solutions.
7. Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including NHS commissioners.
8. A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
1. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Care or equivalent.
2. Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g., health or social care, business administration).
3. Experience with performance monitoring, service audits, and outcome-based decision-making.
