The Role
The senior head of service will have oversight and ensure improved delivery in services and outcomes for children in Bolton, specifically The Integrated Front Door (IFD), The three Assessment Teams, The Emergency Duty Team and The Adoption Agency Decision Maker.
The senior head of service will ensure that children in need of help and protection are receiving good services and improved outcomes through practice improvement, clear performance management, quality assurance and ensuring a stable and permanent workforce.
In this role the senior head of service will contribute to the senior management team and will deputise for the Assistant Director both at internal and external fora.
The role will be responsible for budget management and contribute to our demand management strategy through innovation and strength-based approaches that support children to remain safely at home. This will require strong leadership and good partnership working.
This role will lead on regulatory activity ensuring the service is able to support good inspection outcomes.
About You
You will be a qualified social worker and an experienced leader with a proven track record on managing help and protection services including evidence of service improvement.
We are committed to strength-based and relational practice and are looking for a leader who can demonstrate this approach. You will have experience of working with a range of partners and key stakeholders and evidence that you are able to build others' confidence in your approach and decision-making.
You will be interested in and able to analyse data and performance in order to develop clear service plans which support improvement.
You will be a supportive collaborative leader who is able to build a strong and permanent team that models Bolton's values but also able to constructively challenge practice to ensure we achieve better outcomes for our children.
