This senior leadership role is key in shaping the strategic direction of education and inclusion services across Westmorland and Furness. The successful candidate will drive quality improvements and transformational change, ensuring a high-performing, inclusive, and fair education workforce that improves outcomes for all children. This role will ensure effective implementation of high-quality education services and make the best use of resources to empower children, young people, and communities in Westmorland and Furness.
The successful candidate will lead integrated working with key partners, including Integrated Care Boards, Schools, Multi-Academy Trusts, and government bodies, to drive improvements in Education Outcomes, inclusion and SEND provision. Additionally, they will lead the development of data-driven performance reporting, and drive continuous service improvement and transformation, ensuring the council remains at the forefront of national education policy and funding opportunities.
Who we are looking for…
An experienced and strategic leader to drive impactful change in a highly regulated environment who has extensive knowledge of education policy, SEND and wider inclusion initiatives, and national regulations. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering transformational strategies and your ability to analyse data, influence stakeholders, and navigate evolving government policies will be essential to success in this role.
As a senior leader, you will bring proven experience in operational delivery, strategic planning, and executive-level decision-making. You will excel at building high-performing teams, fostering strong partnerships, and driving continuous improvement.
