The Stationery Office (TSO) provides publishing services to a number of important public sector clients including the Health and Safety Executive, Home Office, Maritime Coastguard Agency, Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency and many others. Then this is the perfect position for you and you are just the individual that we are looking for Purpose of the role As part of the service delivery team, the Service Delivery Executive is responsible for managing print and digital book production across TSO. This includes proactively monitoring stock levels to ensure continuity of supply, procuring the best value and highest quality print, and overseeing production of publications into digital formats, including ePubs. The Service Delivery Executive creates and maintains bibliographic records for all publications. They follow processes for publishing new titles, and work closely with internal colleagues to coordinate and communicate publishing dates. Role Responsibilities Client Develop a clear understanding of client requirements, working closely with publishing managers and account directors Develop and maintain collaborative client relationships Attend client meetings as required, and input into management information, presentations, and reports Work with colleagues to create and adhere to publishing schedules Finance Follow processes and use TSO’s estimating tool to approach potential vendors with print requirements Monitor expenditure with external suppliers Follow approvals processes, including completion of relevant documentation People Develop collaborative relationships across the publishing department, and the wider TSO business Proactively seek resolutions to issues that impact cost and speed to market (e.g. print and digital turnaround times, product specifications) Operations Effectively manage dynamic schedules and competing priorities Deploy quality control processes to maintain best-in-class publishing standards Select the best vendor for each project – based on suitability and cost Proactively manage stock levels, and initiate reprint processes Continually seek process improvements Use your knowledge of publishing and print production to suggest improvements to product specifications (related to e.g. cost, sustainability, innovation) Person Specification Key Competencies & Behaviours Committed, resilient, and self-motivated A service-minded approach with proven client and project management skills Excellent communicator Team-based working approach Personal Attributes Highly organised and a resourceful planner Keen attention to detail and good numeracy Ability to manage change and keep a clear perspective of end goals Experience and Qualifications Previous experience in publishing, print procurement or digital book production desirable Ability to work proficiently with Excel Experience working with complex schedules, and in an environment where priorities are constantly changing Rewards and Benefits We believe in supporting our employees in both their professional and personal lives.
