About The Role
You will be the welcoming face of Mole Valley District Council. You will greet all of our visitors professionally and will use your experience to swiftly determine how best to assist them. The role includes maintaining a safe and tidy reception area, providing assistance to use our self-serve PCs and you may also be asked to undertake other administrative duties as required.
Working as part of our friendly and supportive Customer Services team, you will work independently in our reception area which at times may be busy. As such you will be used to working calmly and efficiently, even when under pressure.
What We’re Looking For
As an experienced receptionist you will be confident working on your own in a front-facing role where it can fluctuate from being very quiet to extremely busy.
A self-motivated individual who can think on your feet.
The ability to handle a range of enquiries professionally and helpfully, making good use of our website and online search engines to provide answers to the questions you are asked and directing visitors to the self-serve PCs where appropriate.
Interpersonal skills that are second to none and the ability to remain calm when under pressure is vital as there may be times where you will need to manage difficult conversations and conflict with members of the public.
You will use our Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to record all customer enquiries (training will be provided) and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.
Committed to delivering great customer service and will possess excellent communication skills, both speaking and listening.
A flexible approach to your duties and good time keeping is essential.
You will need a minimum of five GCSE’s grade 4-9 /A to C, or equivalent including Maths and English to apply.
