The Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy Team is part of the wider Natural Resources & Construction Team in London. The risks covered are both the operational and construction of Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy assets. The Impact You Will Have Based in London and reporting directly to the Regional Head, you will be expected to underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet the business targets encompassing Offshore Renewables and Upstream Energy. You will also be negotiating participation, pricing and terms and conditions. You will be expected to take ownership of accounts and clients, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new brokers and clients. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets • Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers • Proactively manage exposure and capacity • Underwrite and evaluate capacity aggregations including Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios • Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary) • Proactively liaise with Market Management & Distribution (MMC) on market management initiatives • Positively represent Allian Commercial externally to the market • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers) • Training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff (including Junior Underwriters, Operations and Credit Control) What You’ll Bring to the Role • Ideally ACII qualified or equivalent or working towards it. • Solid experience as an Underwriter, Broker or in Risk Management in the Energy sector • Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to the Offshore Energy Line of Business • Pricing and Market management: analyse current performance against benchmarks applying how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs • Contract Drafting and Interpretation: design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings • Policy Management: robust understanding of policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, cancellation. • Communication skills: clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing. Ability to create relationships and communicate clearly at all levels and with a wide range of people • Influencing skills: ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority • Analytical Skills: ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyse, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions. • Fluent English language skills
