Job Description We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a prestigious manufacturing company based in Manchester Youll be responsible for leading a team of 8 (1 supervisor and 7 engineers), ensuring that all engineering tasks are carried out effectively and in line with best practices. Youll oversee both planned and reactive maintenance across two sites, with a focus on reducing downtime and optimising production performance. This position would ideally suit someone with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, with strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will report directly to senior management and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and meet production goals. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position What youll be doing Lead and manage a team of 8 engineers, including 1 supervisor, ensuring efficient coordination of engineering tasks across two sites. Oversee and conduct both planned and reactive maintenance for a variety of production equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. Plan and execute machinery installations, commissioning, and upgrades to support site developments and enhance productivity. Diagnose equipment issues, manage and coordinate repairs, and communicate findings with site management. Drive initiatives to improve production reliability and reduce operational costs. Collaborate on challenging and interesting projects that contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Hours Monday-Thursday 7am-4pm & Friday 7am-12pm Pay £52,000 - £55,000 per annum (Depending on Experience) Skills/Experience Required Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Multi-skilled with mechanical or electrical expertise. Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds Level 3, or apprentice-trained). Prior experience managing engineering teams and coordinating maintenance tasks. Strong Health & Safety awareness and excellent organisational and communication skills. A UK driving license is essential.
