What it's like to work here
Reporting to one of the Senior Collections and House Officers, you'll work closely with volunteers, Collections and House Officers and Collections Assistants to care for and share our collections with a focus on integrated pest management, stored collections and programming development. Our team is collaborative and creative – open in tackling challenges and responding to the changing needs of our visitors and collections.
We want everyone to feel welcome and enjoy access to our places, reaching new and existing audiences in ways that are meaningful and relevant to them. We care about our collections and work hard to make they are safe, cared for and shared physically and digitally. You'll be part of a busy Collections and House team, who look after each other as well as our collection.
What you'll be doing
As the Collections and House Officer, you’ll be responsible for opening the house and making sure there are enough people in the right places to give visitors a consistently good experience.
Supervised by a Senior Collections and House Officer, you'll be involved with routine conservation (including integrated pest management), collections projects, compliance and interpretation and programming in the house.
Your attention and expertise will help to ensure excellent standards of care for the building, collections and visitors.
