About the role
Join Pāmu’s Eyrewell Dairy, as a Dairy Production Manager/2IC. This is a true leadership role where you’ll bring your honest approach, strong work ethic, friendly nature and farm operations expertise to this high performing farm.
Together with the Farm Manager, you’ll manage the team on a daily basis, planning work, pasture management, farm maintenance and coaching/mentoring the team as required.
As a working team lead, you’ll confidently delegate work and carry on your own work independently and keep the farm running effectively and efficiently. You will receive coaching and development so that you’re able to run the farm when the manager is on leave. and together you’ll identify areas where process improvements can be made.
About You
You will be a team player who will bring a positive attitude to our highly motivated team. You’ll be good at planning and will have a strong understanding of dairy operations.
You will bring:
* Exposure to large herds & teams
* Proven extensive dairy farming experience
* Sound knowledge of current NZ dairy farming practices
* AgIto L4 or the equivalent (preferred)
* Strong internal motivation and ability to positively motivate others
* Ability to operate a range of farm vehicles – including experience driving tractors
* First class attitude to Health and Safety and Animal Welfare
* Restricted or full NZ driver’s licence (essential)
Experience with livestock and/or experience in Farm IQ, Milk Hub or any other FMS is preferable but not essential.
The Farm
Located in West Eyreton, 10 minutes from Oxford and 25 minutes from Rangiora. This is a 400 effective ha farm and milks 950 cows through a 60-bale rotary, rearing heifer replacement calves.
