Environmental and Sustainability Manager required to join a leading name in railway electrification.
Role:
1. Offer environmental advice to SHEQ and project management teams operating across the UK.
2. Develop and review ESMPs, SWMP and any other environmental documentation.
3. Ensure company compliance with Network Rail standards.
4. Report to directors on environmental matters.
5. Identify areas of innovation and best practice, record these in case studies.
6. Ensure carbon reduction in line with company targets.
7. Develop assurance programme, covering audits and self-assessments.
8. Act as the point of contact between regulatory bodies and consultants.
9. Create and deliver appropriate environmental training.
10. Carry out site inspections and record findings.
11. Monitor, analyse and report on targets, objectives, inspection and audit findings, near misses and incidents, complaints and carbon reduction.
12. Perform risk assessments to ensure environmental risks are identified, communicated, recorded and dealt with.
Experience:
1. Background as an Environmental and Sustainability Manager / Environmental Manager, within the rail, engineering or construction industries.
2. Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and Network Rail standards.
3. Member of the IEMA.
