An opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacy technician to join our friendly team in the role of Medicines Optimisation Manager at West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, working within the Bradford District and Craven place, on a fixed term or secondment contract for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.
This is a varied role where you will be able to use your leadership skills to support and influence primary care and ICB colleagues.
In order to undertake the role, you will be able to demonstrate skills and specialist knowledge acquired through being a pharmacy technician qualified to NVQ 3/BTEC (or equivalent) level, registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have primary care experience. You will be accountable for your own professional actions, train and develop colleagues, work independently as well as within teams and through the support of senior pharmacists, will organise your own workload and that of colleagues in the Medicines Optimisation Team.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing the local medicines QIPP programme, including planning, co-ordination, monitoring and reporting of QIPP delivery via the PCN based delivery scheme. You will act as a point of contact for PCN based staff to support with queries around the QIPP plan and supply regular QIPP updates to Finance colleagues.
You will also be part of a wider West Yorkshire Economy Group supporting West Yorkshire wide QIPP activity such as shared projects and rebate schemes. This includes contract management, data supply and quarterly administration.
You will support the development and management of local medicines formularies and guidelines, and their inclusion on GP facing software (Assist GP).
As clinical and financial reporting are key elements of this role, you will be competent to run reports in SystmOne, ePACT etc, interpret and share with teams in a timely manner. Collaboration with ICB place teams and wider ICS/external colleagues is essential to support the effectiveness of the role.

Job Summary
The post holder will provide medicines optimisation support to the GP practices across Bradford District and Craven. In conjunction with all team members build strong relationships with the GP practices at place and other teams in the ICB in order to facilitate the development and implementation of the ICB's medicines optimisation strategy, which is focused on making sure that the right patient gets the right choice of medicines at the right time thus improving patient outcomes within financial constraints.
In order to undertake the role, the Medicines Optimisation Manager will be able to demonstrate skills and specialist knowledge acquired through degree level training or equivalent experience. They will be accountable for their own professional actions, train and develop colleagues, work independently as well as within teams and through the support of senior pharmacists, will organise their own workload and that of their colleagues in the Medicines Optimisation Team.

Skills & behaviours
* Knowledge and experience of GP practice clinical systems
* Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with other health care professionals
* Ability to manage own time and deal with competing priorities
* Good team player as part of a multidisciplinary team, but also well motivated to work unsupervised and alone
* Good analytical reasoning and IT skills
* Demonstrate awareness of the limitations of the role and as an individual
* Knowledge and experience of the use of medicines optimisation software
Experience
* Significant relevant work experience as a pharmacy technician in primary care
* Recent experience of working within an ICB to provide medicines optimisation support
Qualifications
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC
