Deputy Home Manager
Job Title: Deputy Home Manager (reporting to Registered and Group Homes Manager)
Job Type: Permanent - Full time
Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Start Date: ASAP
Days and hours of work: 40 hours a week over a 5-day period.
Salary: £31,700 per annum
ARC is recruiting on behalf of a fantastic and reputable client for the position of Deputy Manager to work within their registered homes across Norwich. Our client specialises in care and support for children and young adults with Autism, mental health conditions and learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be dedicated, adaptable and compassionate, supporting the Registered Manager ensuring continued high quality service delivery in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Main Duties
1. Supporting all employees to have the skills, knowledge and ability to undertake their roles, including promotion and management of training.
2. Implementing policy on ordering, administration, storage and destruction of medication.
3. Audit checks on MAR sheets and evidence spot checks.
4. Supporting and assisting the Registered Manager in duties and deputise during their absence.
5. Ensure high-quality care and service is provided to residents, their families and external professionals.
6. Leading on an open and positive workplace culture amongst staff, motivating and empowering them.
7. Ensure both local authority and internal care and placement plans are in place.
8. Supporting residents to participate in educational sessions, physical activities, group activities and day-to-day living.
9. Participate in referral process and development of assessment and transition planning.
10. Support in the recruitment and induction of new staff and deliver the ethos consistently across the homes and company.
Person Specification
1. Effective and strong communication and leadership skills.
2. NVQ Level 3 in young person’s setting or equivalent (essential).
3. NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Children’s Health and Social Care or Adult Social Care (not essential but must be willing to undertake training).
4. Passionate and caring towards and with adults/young people and children with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
5. Full driving licence and access to own transport.
