How’s your project pipeline looking? Perhaps you’re twiddling your thumbs, or a lack of funding is holding you back. If working client-side, delivering a large programme of capital works with a close-knit team sounds like you, then you might like the sound of this. The University of London is thriving. As the UK’s number one provider of distance and digital education, they deliver programmes to 45,000 students across 190 countries worldwide—keeping them ahead of the curve in the sector. The University plays a federated role, supporting 17 other educational organisations, while owning and operating a substantial commercial portfolio. Working with the Director of Projects and a Senior Project Manager, and supported by a large team of external consultants, you’ll take the lead on various building fabric maintenance and repair projects, mechanical and electrical improvements or replacements, and minor works valued at up to £10 million. With a busy project pipeline and hybrid working, you’ll get the best of both worlds and be able to deliver projects your way. You’ll bring a proven track record of delivering capital projects at this scale within construction, from initial feasibility studies through to commissioning, project handover, and post-project evaluation. If refurbishment projects are your thing, beyond the iconic Senate House, you’ll work on a busy programme of unique projects across the portfolio, with a particular focus on student accommodation within listed buildings. The role offers fantastic benefits, including an excellent pension scheme—providing security for now and the future—flexible hybrid working, qualification funding, and 30 days of annual leave, plus closure days and bank holidays. Additional perks include discounts and comprehensive support. So, what’s next? Apply now or reach out to Tom Morrison at Oyster to learn more.
