We are looking for a Lead Battery & Fundamentals Analyst to join us on a permanent basis. This role is based out of Westwood and works using a hybrid model. It is paying from £58,693 to £72,634 along with a market leading benefits package. Here's what you'll be doing We are seeking a skilled Lead Analyst to join our Export, Structuring & Analysis (ESA) team, where you'll leverage complex modeling to understand and mitigate risk within our £6bn Energy Markets trading business. In this pivotal role, you will lead revenue forecasting for pricing and contract valuation, contributing to key senior decision-making meetings. Your expertise will also support financial risk submissions and the quantification of various financial and non-financial structures, such as batteries. Operating at the heart of Energy Markets, you'll develop a deep understanding of grid scale battery revenue streams, supporting Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) and Energy and Environmental Markets (EEM) in evaluating and advancing grid scale opportunities. Additionally, you will ensure best practices in code and architecture, and enhance valuation accuracy by developing new Energy Markets valuation tools. If you have a strong analytical mindset and are ready to drive impactful decisions, this is the role for you Responsibilities Own, develop, maintain, and calibrate models for grid scale battery investments The role holder is the battery modelling expert within the EEM UK having ownership and sign off a suite of battery models for valuations. Provide detailed analysis and modelling expertise to support structure valuations and decision papers being taken to the UK Risk Committee. Lead on the development of risk mitigating proposals through close monitoring and interpretation of external environment changes in the wholesale and competitive markets as well as internally through business process change or business issue identification. Work with the wider ESA team to enhance its reputation as an analytical centre of excellence. What we need from you Essential Educated to degree level in a numerical discipline. Highly numerate with strong ability to analyse highly complex issues and distil them into meaningful metrics and solutions. Can apply graduate level mathematical and statistical techniques to analysis of energy market risks. Have a keen interest to take responsibility proactively, often across unstructured problems, and to demonstrate ownership in these areas. Have advanced modelling skills to include coding competence in one or more of VBA, Matlab, Python, C++ A deep understanding of Energy Markets with significant experience of operating at a lead level with such teams. Demonstratable experience in building relationships with and influencing senior stakeholders Experience in working across business and geographical boundaries to enable a successful and thriving working relationship. Proven commercial focus including ability to relate risk management to the needs of a business and proven experience of delivering commercial return through the management of risks and implementation of innovative solutions. Desirable Experience in creating revenue forecasts for large grid scale battery investments. Experience working with long term fundamental forward energy prices.
