Ackroyd House is a care home for 52 adults. The home is a caring, welcoming and is truly person-centred where our residents are treated with kindness and allowed to live in the moment.
We build our care and activity plans around individuals, supporting and encouraging them to be happy, cared for and as independent as possible. We use technology to allow us to deliver the best care possible when the residents need it.
Working as an activities coordinator, your job will be different every day. There are many tasks that you will need to complete in order to assist your care team, to ensure that the home runs smoothly.

Job Purpose
To work with the people that you are paid to support to enable them to lead as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.
This job description lists the main areas in which you will be expected to provide support. We may need to add more specific tasks to this based on the needs and wishes of the people you support. This supports their right to have control over their own lives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plans, schedules, implements and evaluates a program of individual and/or group activities based on the residents' needs.
2. To coordinate and participate in resident activities designed to promote social interaction, reality orientation and intellectual stimulation.
3. To provide residents who are bedfast or choose to remain in their rooms with in-room activities in keeping with life-long interests (music, reading etc) and in-room projects that they can work on individually.
4. To complete the activity assessment and care plan following the gathering of information to reflect the individual resident’s functional level, problems, needs and interests.
5. To document activity related information to the residents' charts. To review staff’s entries for completeness.
6. To assist with escorting patients to and from activities.
7. To maintain sufficient activity supplies.
8. To develop a monthly calendar of planned activities.
9. To develop and maintain a pleasant and pleasing environment in the room that the activities are to be held, creating the appropriate ambience.
10. To develop & review a continuous quality improvement plan for the activity program and consult with the Home Manager regarding this.
11. To undertake other duties that may be required from time to time that is pertinent to the post.
12. To complete your timesheet in a timely manner in order for you to be paid your salary on time. The onus is upon you to complete your timesheet.
13. To contribute to the efficient running of the home and create the right atmosphere.
14. To attend staff meetings where appropriate.
15. To be familiar with the regulations and procedures required in the execution of all the above duties.
