We are looking to recruit a band 7 Clinical Physiologist or Clinical Scientist in Neurophysiology for 12 months maternity cover.
This is an exciting opportunity for band 6 physiologists looking to progress their career and develop leadership skills in Neurophysiology. The maternity cover replaces our lead for sleep but the area of responsibility can be adjusted to meet the successful candidates strengths.
Main duties of the job
The role will include independent outpatient clinics in EEG (all modalities) and NCS for carpal tunnel screening and ulnar neuropathy screening. Additionally, there are weekly peripheral neuropathy screening clinics supported by the Consultant Neurophysiologist.
Neurophysiology at SWB is across 2 sites; now the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital has opened. Here, inpatient investigations are performed in the department and on the wards including wards at other acute Trusts in the region. Full-time physiologists are rostered for inpatient clinics 1-2 days a week.
About us
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), has opened and will provide care to our local population from first-class, purpose-built premises. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
We have three strategic objectives:
1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
