There are two Relationship Director Opportunities - one to focus on large corporate and the other to focus on mid market clients.
Purpose of the Role
To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with corporate clients. This role serves as the bridge between the organisation's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.
Accountabilities
* Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance. Use data analysis, including insights from investment portfolios and cash flow, to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for additional services to meet client needs.
* Industry Research and Insights: Stay informed on clients industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to develop informed strategic recommendations.
* Customised Solutions: Design tailored solutions that address clients specific needs and objectives by leveraging a broad portfolio of products and services.
* Value Communication: Clearly articulate the value of proposed solutions, provide justifications, and negotiate terms that benefit both the client and the organisation.
* Guidance and Advisory: Support clients in making financial decisions, managing risk, and implementing wealth management strategies. Share updates on market trends to foster a positive and ongoing relationship.
* Risk Management: Evaluate financial, legal, and operational risks in client relationships and implement measures to minimize potential losses.
* Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and recommend changes. Plan resources, budgets, and policies while managing and improving processes to meet organisational goals.
* Manage specialists to influence departmental operations, balancing strategic and tactical priorities while ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
* For individual contributors, serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical direction, collaborating on long-term assignments, and coaching less experienced colleagues.
* Advise stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
* Mitigate risks by supporting control and governance initiatives.
* Demonstrate accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls within the team’s scope of work.
* Apply a comprehensive understanding of organizational functions to achieve business goals.
* Collaborate across teams to align strategies and support business activities.
* Develop innovative solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought and extensive research.
* Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve key objectives, using negotiation and influencing skills as necessary.
Role Overview
In the UK Mid-Corporate / Large Corporate Coverage business area, the focus is on understanding clients objectives, opportunities, and challenges, and collaborating to help them achieve their business ambitions. Expertise spans various sectors, including manufacturing, technology, restaurants, and law firms, with a strong emphasis on delivering appropriate financial solutions through collaboration with product specialists.
This role involves managing a portfolio of mid-corporate or Large Corporate clients across the North-East, prioritising both portfolio growth through client acquisition and increasing wallet share within the existing portfolio. Building an external network and being recognised as a trusted financial partner in the community is a key expectation.
Minimum Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of market dynamics at national, regional, and local levels.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience working in a corporate business environment.
* Proficiency in corporate financial products, including cash management, liquidity management, and lending solutions.
* Proven business development skills, including understanding customer needs and negotiation.
* Comprehensive knowledge of mandatory risk policies and procedures related to credit conformance and regulatory, operational, and legal risks.
