The team is based in Central Croydon and is a dynamic and vibrant service for young people aged between 17yrs and 25yrs. Although we sit in Adult Social Care, our journey with the people we support starts much earlier with the aspiration to start at academic year 9. Within Croydon Council, the Transition Team sits in a favourable position of being able to undertake work across both Children and Adult Services. Working with us will provide you with opportunities for professional and personal growth, as well as positive career advancement opportunities Service Manager You will have several years’ experience as an operational manager, have a track record of leading a team of frontline social workers managing a range of complex cases for young people. You will have extensive experience of managing staff, budgets and projects. You will be a leader who is confident in managing change, resolving conflict and developing the workforce whilst addressing any performance concerns. We work with young people who have a wide range of additional needs and complex conditions. We challenge inequality and traditional responses to service delivery and ensure that we employ a strength-based approach to our work. The responsibilities will include joint working with Children’s Services and SEN. We believe in coproduction and feel passionately that the young person should be firmly in control of their life outcomes. We ensure that our young people have aspirational goals and targets that will support them into employment pathways, independent living and all other meaningful occupation.
