Job Title: Sales Manager

They are a leading supplier of high-quality handling, access and storage equipment to the trade. With a wide product portfolio featuring products made in the UK and imported from all over the world, they build long-term partnerships with their customers and provide a trusted service across various market sectors.
They are an office team of approximately 25 with separate manufacturing and warehousing operations based elsewhere.
About the Role:
They are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sales Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a key role within the company, overseeing the management of several significant accounts previously handled by the Managing Director and leading a small, dedicated sales team.
This position offers the exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the senior management team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Account Management:
o Build and nurture long-term, trusting relationships with key customers and distributors.
o Take ownership of key accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers.
o Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within new and existing accounts.
o Customer visits should account for approximately 50% of time spent.
2. Sales Strategy & Development:
o Play a crucial role in developing and implementing the overall sales strategy for the business, with a strong emphasis on building and maintaining long-term customer and supplier relationships.
o Analyse market trends and identify new market segments and opportunities.
o Work with our marketing team to create product presentations and marketing campaigns.
o Represent the company at conferences, exhibitions and training events.
3. Distributor Management:
o Oversee the relationship with existing distributors, providing support and guidance.
o Monitor distributor performance and identify areas for improvement.
o Develop and implement strategies to increase distributor sales and market penetration.
4. Sales Team Leadership:
o Lead and mentor a small, dedicated sales team [currently one other], fostering a high-performing and motivated environment.
o Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members to achieve sales targets and build strong customer relationships.
o Recruit, train, and develop new sales team members as the business grows.
5. Sales Reporting & Analysis:
o Track and analyse key sales metrics, including revenue, sales forecasts and performance.
o Prepare regular sales reports for management, highlighting key customer relationships and identifying areas for improvement in supplier partnerships.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven sales experience in any sector.
* Strong leadership and management skills.
* Highly motivated, results-oriented, and a strong team player.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, both on the phone and in writing.
* Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
