Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.
Scottish Water is seeking 2 Operational Specialists in Health & Safety to support its £900 million annual Capital Investment Programme. One role will be based in the North of Scotland and the other in the Central Belt.
What you’ll do
* Improve Health & Safety (H&S) performance across projects.
* Collaborate with stakeholders and construction partners to foster a strong H&S culture.
* Provide expert H&S advice, coaching, and guidance, ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards.
* Oversee H&S aspects of construction projects, including risk assessments and incident investigations.
* Ensure adherence to Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations.
* Contribute to safety initiatives and participate in safety processes like HAZOPs and HAZCONs.
What you’ll need
* Knowledge of construction and/or utility industry practices and H&S legislation, especially CDM Regulations.
* NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
* Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH membership, root cause analysis training.
* Decision-making skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to deliver engaging presentations and influence stakeholders.
* Location flexibility or proximity to Inverness, Tay, Perth, Kinross, Caithness, or Aberdeen for the North Scotland role.

Additional information
Starting salary: £33,560, progressing to £44,140 based on performance. Role Grade: 6. Moving to a 35-hour workweek in November 2024.
