Seeking an accomplished Underground Utilities & Infrastructure Estimator with expertise in municipal infrastructure, deep excavation, and site development projects. CAREER POSITION:
This senior-level estimating position offers advancement opportunities within our established organization. You'll collaborate directly with ownership and project executives while leading bids for municipal infrastructure, commercial development, and institutional projects throughout Southwestern Ontario.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Underground Utility Estimating: Develop comprehensive cost models for water distribution systems, sanitary sewers, and stormwater infrastructure
* Municipal Infrastructure Bids: Lead estimating for public works projects, including pump stations, large-diameter watermains, and complex utility coordination
* Quantity Takeoff Management: Direct precise material quantification for excavation, backfill, trench systems, and infrastructure components
* Value Engineering: Identify cost optimization strategies while maintaining quality and compliance with municipal specifications
* Pre-Construction Planning: Collaborate with operations team to develop efficient installation methodologies for underground systems
* Subcontractor & Supplier Management: Cultivate relationships with specialty subcontractors and material suppliers to secure competitive pricing
* Client Relationship Development: Participate in pre-bid meetings, project interviews, and client presentations to secure project awards
EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
* 10+ years in underground utility construction estimating and/or project management
* Municipal infrastructure experience with water distribution, sanitary collection, and stormwater management systems
* Proficiency with Bid2Win or equivalent construction estimating software
* Advanced knowledge of civil construction methods, particularly deep excavation techniques and trench safety systems
* Strong technical background in site development, earthwork balancing, and underground utilities
* Demonstrated experience with public works bidding processes and municipal specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Civil Engineering Technology diploma or Civil Engineering degree preferred
* Extensive knowledge of OPSS/OPSD standards for municipal infrastructure
* Proven track record estimating projects valued $1M-$20M
* Experience with water/wastewater infrastructure construction
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
* Valid driver's license and ability to visit project sites
