The role of the Very Sheltered Housing Officer is to deliver a Housing Support service to tenants within our 11 complexes across Fife. Our tenants live in our Very Sheltered Housing complexes as part of our Older Persons Housing Service. We provide daily welfare checks to our tenants and we also provide onsite Housing Support which is delivered through a Housing Support Plan. Officers work on a 4-week rota which involves working weekends and public holidays, working across all our complexes in Fife; working as a lone worker as part of a wider team. You will find more information about the job and the type of person we are looking for The Person Previous experience working with older people or service users with specific or additional needs. Educated to SVQ level 6 which meets the SSSC registration requirements for Housing Support Workers in a housing support service. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. Have the ability to deal with crisis situations. Be able to demonstrate an ability to work on his/her own initiative. Have a positive attitude to service users. Literacy and numeracy skills. Basic IT skills – ability to deal with e-mails. Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of start date. As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
