Responsibilities
1. To keep the quality manual and other food safety documents including HACCP up to date and to ensure the company meets with all current food legislation.
2. To support the successful completion of customer and third-party audits and visits.
3. To ensure that suppliers meet with the company’s quality requirements.
4. To maintain the company’s product & packaging specifications and labelling systems.
5. To gather, calculate and submit data for the company’s obligations under packaging waste regulations and EPR.
6. To complete customer line forms, questionnaires and specification requests.
7. To set up and maintain data in the company’s ERP system(s).
8. To undertake GMP audits according to agreed audit schedule, distribute the results and ensure the closure of actions raised.
9. To lead and/or participate in root cause investigation when incidents or trends appear.
10. To participate in the investigation of complaints, food safety close calls and trends ensuring effective preventive measures are put in place.
11. To train relevant quality management procedures and personnel linked to food safety and supporting a quality culture as appropriate.
12. Challenge hygiene practices and standards with the aim of reducing food safety incidences.
13. To effectively manage allocated continuous improvement projects.
14. To proactively support initiatives to improve product safety, quality and culture.
15. To support and develop the Technical department in conjunction with line manager.
Key Requirements
16. Ideally you will have worked in a technical and quality role within the food sector for at least 2 years.
17. The desirable candidate will have a degree in Food Science or a related subject.
18. A good understanding of production processes, raw materials, allergens and finished products.
19. Outstanding attention to detail.
20. Organised, methodical, with excellent administrative and strong communication skills.
21. Good relationship building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
22. An understanding of the principles of GMP and Global Food Safety Initiatives.
